- ➤ Senate Bill 8, filed by State Sen. Charles Schwertner (from Georgetown), would require Texas counties with 100,000 or more people to join ICE's 287(g) program if passed. The bill was left pending in the Senate State Affairs Committee on Monday and critics say it could impose high costs, especially for counties with more than one million people. KXAN
