- ➤ Due to ongoing drought and low rainfall last fall, experts at the Wildflower Center said bluebonnets will bloom less in central Texas this spring—bluebonnet seeds need enough water to grow. Dedicated beds at the Center have extra irrigation to boost blooms—other areas may see mixed wildflower displays. KXAN
