ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An off-duty Georgetown firefighter died when a crash on Hwy 29 west of Wolf Ranch Parkway on April 11th involved a motorcycle and another vehicle— authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating the incident. FOX 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting next week, I-35 northbound will be reduced to one lane from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on April 14 to 17 due to construction on the Capital Express North and South projects—TxDOT stated that the northbound US 183 to I-35 flyover will also close, and earlier planned closures for April 11 and April 12 have been canceled. - ➤ Developer Del Webb has proposed more than 500 new homes, 250 medium-density units and commercial space on a 362-acre property just outside Georgetown—divided by a large floodplain near Indian Springs Road and Williams Drive. The city council has raised questions about the plan and will review its potential impact on the area. The Williamson County Sun
- ➤ Williamson County is studying upgrades to Ronald Reagan Boulevard from RM 2243 to SH 29 that could add toll lanes to help fund an expansion estimated at $532 million. Cedar Park approved the study on March 27 while Leander City Council did not take action as county officials seek a partnership with the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority for managed lanes.
