COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Residents in Georgetown experienced loud blasts on April 25th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Quarry on Ronald Reagan Boulevard due to movie shoot preparation — the local fire department assured there was no cause for concern.  KXAN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Georgetown City Council approved a list of Certificates of Obligation—used to fund public works—and General Obligation Bonds for 2025 on April 22 as part of its consent agenda. The bonds will provide funding for various city projects.  The Williamson County Sun

HEALTH NEWS

  • A vaccinated adult in Travis County is isolated & shows mild measles symptoms after being exposed to the virus during travel between April 16th and April 20th. Health officials listed several exposure sites in Austin & advise anyone who visited these places to contact their doctor if they have symptoms.  FOX 7
  • Amanda Canary from Pflugerville donated her kidney to her mother in Georgetown at St. David’s after doctors confirmed she was a match; the transplant took place on November 5th and both are recovering well—doctors say Michele’s energy has noticeably improved.  FOX 7
