EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Texas lawmakers approved a bill that would abolish the STAAR test if it passes further review; if passed by the Senate and signed by Gov. Abbott, the statewide test will not be given next school year. FOX 7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Georgetown joined the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter partnership after voters backed a bond in 2023 and the city council approved an updated agreement last month. The Commissioners Court set terms that will add shelter services and the transition will begin in mid-July — a move expected to improve care for local pets. FOX 7
