- ➤ Jason Fritz from the Williamson County and Cities Health District collects mosquitoes overnight to test for the West Nile virus — the samples go to the state lab where Bethany Bolling checks for positive pools. In 2024, the CDC recorded 176 human cases in Texas with seven in Travis, two in Hays, and two in Williamson counties, and no positive pools have been reported in the KXAN viewing area so far this year.
