- ➤ The nonprofit Restoring God’s Family Network will host its inaugural Jubilee Mobile Food Pantry Prayer Walk/5K on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at 521 E. Morrow St. in Georgetown + the event aims to bring healthy food directly to underserved areas as 77,000 Williamson County residents face food insecurity amid limited transportation and reduced food assistance programs. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ School districts in Central Texas are offering free summer meals to children and teens, with some serving disabled students up to age 21 (no registration is needed) as meals must be eaten on site per state rules. Georgetown ISD offers free breakfast and lunch at multiple campuses from May 28 to August 9 with service Monday through Thursday and a break from July 1 to 5. FOX 7

- ➤ International travelers have tested positive for the NB.1.8.1 COVID variant—nicknamed 'razor blade throat' COVID because it causes painful sore throats—and experts warn it could become the main strain by fall even though Texas data shows a decline in COVID emergency visits.
