- ➤ Dangerous floodwaters forced an emergency evacuation of dogs and cats from the Georgetown animal shelter on Saturday. All animals were moved to Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter—staff there are urging residents to foster at least 85 cats and 35 dogs. KXAN
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Photos and videos show that flash flooding in Travis, Williamson and Burnet counties has killed 2 people and left 10 missing as up to 15 inches of rain has caused rising waters to force evacuations and rescue efforts in areas including Georgetown—where residents near apartment complexes are being advised to evacuate amid dangerous conditions. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder announced on Facebook that a boil water notice went into effect at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 5, after a watermain broke due to flooding. Residents in areas such as North Old Town, Parkview Estates, and Stillwater must boil water for use while crews work to restore the service—further updates will follow. The Williamson County Sun
- ➤ The Williamson County Office of Emergency Management advised Georgetown residents to evacuate mobile home parks along the San Gabriel River Saturday morning— including Riverside, Shady River and Goodwater— as rising waters forced closures at San Gabriel and Blue Hole parks.
