Starting July 16, The Caring Place’s food pantry at 2000 Railroad Avenue will extend hours to 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays, adding to its usual 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. schedule on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday as it pilots a food access program.

The Stables at Georgetown opened its first sober-living facility for men transitioning from addiction recovery last week in Walburg.
The 23-bedroom property, once used for short-term rentals, now offers essential support for lasting sobriety.
June was Men’s Health Month in Georgetown, reminding residents that good looks may hide risks (heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and cancer can develop unnoticed) and that regular check-ups are essential for long-term well-being.
