Texas-based H-E-B responded within 24 hours to catastrophic floods during the July 4 weekend by deploying disaster relief sites in Central Texas + mobilizing its employees.
The company donated $5 million to nonprofits and is distributing water, food and cleaning supplies in communities including Leander, Burnet + Georgetown.
🏛️ Government
Gov. Abbott said the Texas Workforce Commission is accepting Disaster Unemployment Assistance applications for Burnet, San Saba, Tom Green, Travis and Williamson counties affected by recent floods.
Eligible workers and self-employed persons must apply online or call between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. by Sept. 4—applications must show job loss is due to the storm—state officials said.
