CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Hays County authorities charged 24-year-old restaurant employee Aiden Lane Dwyer with murder after the fire at Savage’s Hill Country Bar and Grill in Wimberley allegedly caused the death of 23-year-old Zachary Salley on Sunday—Dwyer, who was arrested in Jasper County, remains in custody at the Hays County jail. - ➤ Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced a Senate Select Committee on Disaster Preparedness and Flooding that includes nine senators, with Sen. Charles Perry R-Lubbock set to chair as the group meets in Austin on July 23. A second hearing is scheduled in Kerrville on July 31 for residents to testify while Gov. Greg Abbott and Sen. Paul Bettencourt work on steps to boost flood safety. KXAN
