- ➤ Georgetown High sophomore Joseph Bustos was awarded a $1,000 VFW scholarship after his essay placed second in the Voice of Democracy contest. The awards were handed out at VFW Post 8587 by Commander John McLeskey and Auxiliary member Victoria Wren. The Williamson County Sun
- ➤ Georgetown ISD trustees named its future elementary school Jessie Daniel Ames Elementary School on Dec. 15 to honor the early 1900s suffragist who worked to improve lives in Williamson County.
