  • St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown received the Texas Alliance Walk for Life’s Top Church award for congregations with over 1,000 members. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Georgetown City Council approved a $1.3 billion FY26 budget on September 9 that lowers the property tax rate to 35.3 cents per $100 (from 36.5) but rising property values may push the average bill up by about $14. Residents will also face a 9 percent water and 12 percent wastewater rate increase plus a 2 percent rise in electric rates as the budget funds capital projects and essential services.  FOX 7
